Co-founder Mark judges national competition

Move over Simon Colwell, blushes co-founder Mark Blake is about to take centre stage in judging Britain’s up and coming hairdressing talent.

Move over Simon Colwell, blushes co-founder Mark Blake is about to take centrestage in judging Britain’s up and coming hairdressing talent.

Mark, 49, has been invited to be one of the judges at the Wella Professional Trend Vision Award UK final.for the second year running.

He will be one of 10 celebrity hairdressers judging on stage at the gala competition at The World famou Roundhouse in Camden on September 27.

“This is a premier competition for young talent in the UK and it is an honour to be asked to judge,” said Mark who run the three blushes salons with brother Darrell.

When not on the salon floor, Mark travels abroad with companies such as L’Oreal as a consultant and stylist on fashion shoots.

“There is some remarkable young talent out there, taking hairdressing in a direction we would never have thought possible when I started out more than 25 years ago,” said Mark. “Blushes is a respected name in the industry we are proud of what we have achieved – and no plans on staying still.”

Blushes go Country

Three Cheltenham Ladies' College girls brought a bit of glam to a fashion shoot with Blushes. They were modelling some of the great clothes available about Cotswold Country Living Ltd. The girls' hair and make-up were done by the Blushes Artistic Team.

New stylist joins the Blushes team

Sheridan Roberts has joined the Blushes team at the Cheltenham salon. The senior stylist says she is thrilled to be part of Blushes.

The senior stylist has more than five years' experience. Living in Newent, Sherdian says she loves cutting and colouring.

She discovered her love of hairdressing by accident - after deciding that working in an office wasn't for her. Once she found her passion, it didn't take her long. Sheridan completed her training in six months.

"I simply love hairdressing. I also taught myself a lot. I would watch my trainers and managers to see what they were doing and then go off and have a go myself."
