Blushes x Cheltenham Wellbeing Festival: The Wellbook Resilience Issue

If ever there was a time when resilience were needed, it would be between 2020-21. As the past year has brought us more challenges than we ever thought we’d face, we explore how the meaning of Self-Care has evolved beyond the occasional face mask and bubble bath into adapting a more holistic approach to our lifestyles.

This month we’re absolutely delighted to have collaborated with Cheltenham Wellbeing Festival on their February edition of The Wellbook: The Resilience Issue, where our Marketing Director Gee takes us through the fundamentals of Self-Care and the importance of it during such turbulent times.

Wellbook is an incredible, local community of health and wellness experts in various fields, who’ve contributed to the first issue of the digital magazine guiding us to Live Life Well.

At Blushes Cheltenham, we’re passionate about creating environments where people come to flourish, and while we’re not able to see you at the moment we still want to enrich you with nourishing content, that’s relevant to the times, so you’re able to flourish wherever you are.

In times of crisis our self-care can easily be forgotten, and we tell ourselves that it’s selfish to take time for ourselves. But as has been well documented by many psychological professionals over the years, we simply cannot pour from an empty cup. If you don’t have the energy and strength to take care of yourself first, you cannot support others.
— Georgia Faulkner, Marketing Director

Self care isn’t “one size fits all”, the premise is to take time out of your day to do something that makes you feel good physically, mentally, or both. For some that may be in the form of skincare, meditation, cooking, walking, listening to a podcast and for others it may come in different forms. In times of uncertainty and a lack of control and freedom it’s important to take control of your daily habits where you can so that you’re feeling your best and better able to support those around you.

This lockdown, we’ve taken a 360 approach to Self-Care, and in partnership with many of the practitioners included in The Wellbook, we’ll be hosting various experts on our blogs and social media to provide our audience with interactive experiences and insightful content to help support all aspects of a person’s wellbeing.
