Born Wild Tea's Ultimate Masala Chai Tea Latte

A unique twist on the classic Chai Tea Latte

One of our all-time favourite tea blends has to be our Masala Chai. This is a warming blend of black tea (a blend of Assam and Ceylon) and aromatic spices, creating a traditional Chai flavour.

We were inspired by the popular drink served by chai wallahs on the streets of India with this blend and after much tasting, the combination of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and cloves worked perfectly.  Our favourite way to drink this tea is as a chai latte – it’s a must try!

How to make a Masala Chai latte at home

Add 2 heaped tsp. of Masala Chai loose leaf tea into a pan on the hob

Add 100ml of hot water (just off the boil) to start the infusion and turn the heat on

After around 30 seconds add 200ml of milk to the pan (we love oat or coconut) and continue to stir whilst it heats up

Keep stirring and make sure it doesn’t boil!

Once it’s hot enough and nicely infused (it should turn a lovely creamy caramel colour), pour into your favourite cup whilst using a strainer to collect the tea leaves

Now we like to add 1 tsp. of date syrup or agave to sweeten and sprinkle with cinnamon

Sit back, relax and sip on some liquid happiness!

This recipe is a must-try for anyone who loves a tea-meets-coffee fusion. Carving time out of your day to create an experience out of making your favourite brew is practically self-care too!
