Why Top Cheltenham-Based Hair Group Wins Awards

Personal recommendations for the best hairdressers in Cheltenham can be invaluable. Blushes can go one better than its network of happy customers. We also have a raft of prestigious awards! Why does that matter?

Choosing the right salon is about trusting your hair to someone who starts out as a stranger to you, and being confident that the end result will be worth every penny! We all know how important it is to spend wisely these days, especially when it comes to precious cash invested in our appearance.

Why does it matter if a chain of hair and beauty salons has a long list of accolades, many of which have been awarded from industry peers? As haircare is such a creative sector – worth £4billion to the UK economy – there are various competitions and award schemes to highlight skills such as colouring, styling and male grooming. This article looks at how relevant they are when choosing a new salon, and how they relate to the ethos at the Blushes group.

Can you judge a salon by its trophy cabinet?

Having a long history of scooping up top titles in their trade is not about ‘bragging rights’ for the Blushes team.

The business firmly puts an emphasis on making sure that every customer leaves the salon with their expectations met, if not exceeded. As well as ensuring every staff member is content in their work and benefiting from exciting professional development.

That’s the greatest source of pride for the managers of the group – which has outlets in Cheltenham, Cirencester, Nailsworth and Worcester.

The national industry awards simply confirm that the hair and beauty firm’s creativity - and its use of ‘cutting edge’ technology - is reaching high standards. Winning awards is also a positive affirmation that the investment made in training is resulting in a level of professionalism that makes Blushes ‘head and shoulders’ above the competition.

Entering award schemes is also great fun for the enthusiastic staff members at Blushes! Going head to head with other salons and professionals adds even more interest to their job. Then, they get to attend swanky awards ceremonies in London, sitting with all the other industry superstars!

What awards have Blushes won?

So, which national awards have Blushes secured since its inception?

In 2016, the team emerged as Grand Finalists in the L’Oreal Colour Trophy. The Blushes Hairdressing Gloucester salon had worked towards this career-defining pinnacle for six months, before accepting the South West of England award from TV and Radio Presenter Nick Grimshaw and hair industry guru Steve Rowbottom.

They were third nationally too!

What sort of level do you need to reach, to get such a prestigious title? The last stage of the competition involved colouring a model's hair flawlessly, while also showing considerable industry insight into good technique and the latest hair trends. Clearly, the Blushes Hairdressing Gloucester team made sure they ticked all the right boxes!

Not that it was the first time that Blushes shone while taking part in this massively important hair industry awards scheme. Back in 2015, the salon group’s Gloucester and Cheltenham teams secured two of only four much sought after places in the Western Heat of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award.

In 2014, two of the star performers at Blushes scooped “Young Colourist of the year” and “Runner up in the Men’s Image of the Year” in the L’Oreal Colour Trophy.

More Blushes salon awards to come?

Will there be more award ceremonies in the coming years, for innovative hair company Blushes? The team is determined to reach more of these highly significant industry milestones.

However, every new service launched - and every successful day creating a dynamic and inclusive environment for staff and customers – is cause for celebration at Blushes! Whether it’s a new male grooming technique or offering customers a highly creative new colour option.

Meanwhile, the team will be working hard to collect even more valuable accolades – the glowing customer testimonials and recommendations featured on our website!

Also, success can be counted in the number of long-standing and loyal customers, who have been visiting the group’s salons for two decades in some cases!

That’s because keeping ‘ahead’ of what our customers want and need, is a year-round part of the Blushes mantra.
