5 Hairstyles you need to be asking for in 2022

90’s Bombshell

The 90’s Bombshell look is more than just a voluminous blow-dry, it’s all about layers, layers and more layers to create that signature face-framing, root-lifted look. There’s movement, there’s height, it truly maximises what your hair has to offer- even if your hair is on the thinner side. So dust off those heated rollers because the 90’s is BACK.

I love the sexiness, and the freedom of movement, I’ve always loved the feeling of being able to put your hands in your hair and moving the parting from side to side giving that quiffy root lift. It’s just so casual and playful.

Chunky Bangs

Say goodbye to subtlety and say hello to chunky bangs. Let’s be honest, bangs aren’t going anywhere any time soon so buckle up and jump on Pinterest, because there’s a pair of bangs for every face shape and hair texture.

Rounded Curly Shapes

Embracing your natural hair texture is so 2022. Whatever the length of your hair, with natural curly texture your stylist can create a soft roundness to the overall shape of your hair in your cut, achieving width and volume by adding internal and external layers to pad out the shape and allow your curls to fully form.

A Bob is always a good idea

We could wax lyrical about how much we love a Bob at Blushes, but we think you probably already gathered that from our previous blog - The Bob, version 2.0! Vogue is favouring the “power bob” for 2022, the most versatile of bobs- cut square at any length to achieve a bluntness that swishes with you as you move and creates a strong, healthy perimeter line with just a hint of graduation. The benefit of having an all-one-length bob means when it comes to hair styling there’s no limit- air dried? Great texture. Waves? No problem. A cute half-up-half-down bun? We love it!

The Bob comes in and out of fashion but its safe to say it will always be more ‘in fashion’ than it will ever be out.

See, the beauty of the bob is the variety of length’s and shapes that can be cut to make it suitable for nearly all hair types, textures and face shapes.

It can be a statement for women who want a strong look or relaxed for women who have less time and a more natural look.

For women with thinner and finer hair it will most always make up for a lack of fullness and volume whatever the colour.

If a bob style is chosen well and cut correctly it will be sure to get positive comments and a feeling of style and shape to your overall look.

Shaggy Layering

We are obsessed with this hair style, it’s as if the pixie and the long shag cut had a baby and created this thing of absolute beauty. Not quite as layered as the shag cut but equally as lived in, you can take elements of a whole range of cuts and customise according to your face shape and hair texture. At Blushes Cheltenham, we know that the best part of this look is that it works best when left to air dry and then manipulated slightly at the root to give that “I just rolled out of bed, but I look damned cool” look.

This haircut is the perfect combination of the 70s Farah and the 80s mullet. Great for all face shapes due to the amount of texture created from the layers which can give lots of volume or can be worn really flat depending on the desired result. The shape is rectangular due to the width through the top and extra long length but is equally beautiful on mid-length hair. This gives it a real androgynous feel. Let’s be honest, above all else, it’s just cool.
