British Polo Gin’s Valentine’s Day Cocktail of Choice
Following the discovery of a gap in the market back in 2016 and a background in professional polo, the inception of a 100% organic, easy drinking polo gin was born. Founder of British Polo Gin, and dear friend to some of our team, Richard Hine had the vision to create a gin that was smooth enough to drink on the rocks while also being balanced enough to compliment the tonic it’s paired with. It’s also proudly sugar-free, so a guilt-free choice!
While we wouldn’t necessarily always subscribe to the quintessential cliché of drinking something pink on Valentine’s Day, the delicate twist of British Polo Gin’s “High Goal Cocktail” has certainly won us over. Reminiscent of early spring and the start of the polo season in the UK, Richard has constructed an easy to make cocktail that makes us nostalgic for British summertime while giving us a perfect recipe for our Valentine’s day tipple. Combining subtle botanical notes of Rose with fresh Strawberry juice in the gin served with the elegant, floral aromas of Elderflower tonic lends itself as the ultimate balance. Also, to pay homage to the founder himself we might add that he also shares the 14th of February as his birthday!

Ingredients:
x 2 Summer Strawberries
x 1 Lime
x 1 teaspoon of caster sugar
x 50ml BPG Strawberry & Rose
x 100ml Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic
Recipe:
Muddle x1 strawberry and a quarter of a lime with teaspoon of sugar to create a syrup
Add 4 to 5 cubes of ice
Add 50ml of BPG Strawberry & Rose
Add 100ml Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic
Garnish with a halved strawberry
