Guest Artists: Junglist Atelier

Welcoming Guest Artists Jungalist Atelier to the floor.

The team at Jungalist are currently celebrating the expansion of the flagship studio in Cheltenham, located next to the Skandinavian coffee pod which we’re so happy for them about! A note from them:

“Junglist Journal has been taking a lil' break whilst we've been pumping all our energy into growing our beautiful Cheltenham store. We are so excited to have been able to double our size and now sit right next door to our awesome neighbours; The Scandinavian Coffee Pod. Cheltenham has given us all the feels since we opened, we have been supported by and welcomed into an amazing community and are pleased to now be able to offer a wider variety of gorgeous greenery including large leafy aroids and huge cowboy cacti! The extra space also allows us to stock bigger and more pots, accessories, tools and artwork and as always, we ensure that sustainability is a major focus of everything we sell.”

On the subject of Biophilia, straight from the horses mouth…

Our lives have been turned upside down over the last two years and for a lot of us we slowed right down, lived a simpler life and made new connections to nature. Whether getting into gardening, growing our own food, filling our houses with tropical plants or walking in the countryside, we had the space and time to feel the benefits that the natural world brings to our physical and mental wellbeing... that people is BIOPHILIA right there!
By definition this is our innate human instinct to connect with nature - it's the way we're wired up; we function better with plants surrounding us. Now that some normality has returned our crazy busy lives have taken over again. So, whenever you can, make time to get your hands in soil, check out new growth, wipe down leaves or just relax and take it all in, because any time spent with nature will always improve your wellbeing and nourish your soul.

Work It

Working while surrounded by some greenery can actually increase your productivity and also reduce stress, this is why we are now seeing more and more office spaces being designed around planting schemes. We have become way busier with corporate work in the last 18months and being able to transform a space with plants is something us Junglist girls really love doing.

All about Wood

Did you know that just touching wood for 90 seconds or more actually lowers the release of stress hormones in the body. Studies have shown that working on a wooden desk versus other materials will have a positive affect on your mood, motivation, stress and fear levels. So don't underestimate that tree you walk past everyday or your wooden kitchen counter top - they have super powers!
